Generally Speaking

I haven't posted in a while.  Family reunions are fun, bit they send my brain into never never land.  I've been so excited about going to the reunion I couldn't think about anything else.  I haven't gotten much beading done.  I'm working on a triangle weave bracelet I'm calling Fanfare.  It's almost finished but I may not have it done for another week yet.  My son, who I only get to see once a year, is in town so brain's still in "visitation" mode.

I've joined the Etsy Beadweaving Team, but my head's so scattered I can't even find the link to the blog, so I'll post more about that next week.

Daisy Eyelet Pattern finished

I've finally finished the pattern for the Daisy Eyelet earrings and necklace. It's now available at Bead Patterns Boutique.  You can buy the earrings and necklace separate or  buy the set and save 15%.

Made with pearls and crystals as shown, this set is perfect for the bride or graduate or for prom or any other formal event..  It can also be made with fire polished rounds or other beads for a more casual look that will carry you from the office to that evening out.

New Pearls and Crystals Necklace in the works

I think my beading, pattern making muse has reappeared.  Bad news for my house cleaning plans, but I can clean house another day.  I'm working on a pattern I'm calling Daisy Eyelet.  It's made with several sizes of pearls and bicones all put together with size 15 rocailles.  It's not a "new" design.  It's an adaptation of one my oldest daughter, Wendy, AKA Bohemian Heart, made for my youngest daughter's wedding. You can see the original on my Accessorizing with Beads Squidoo lens. Just scroll down to the Right Angle Weave section. I hope to have it finished and pictures up this week.

My beady friends seem to be doing much more than I am this summer.  Beth Rudy of Bouncing Wolf Creations has several new earrings on her blog. She does beautiful Native American items as well as other more contemporary designs.

Juanita Carlos of Jaycee Patterns has a new pearl filagree design on her web site and is working on a pattern for it.  I think her designs are all just so elegant.

Miss Val at Miss Val's Creations is showing off a white elephant lanyard.

And Nancy at Rabbit Muse is having a huge "everything's on sale" sale.

Speaking of sales, don't forget ArtBeads is having their 10th anniversary sale all year long.  Each week they have different items on special sale. This week check out their base metal sale, Swarovski single stone settings, and Czech pressed glass specials plus much more.

I hope you all have a blessed Sunday and take time to count your many blessings.  It's back to the beading table for me until it's cool enough this evening to work in the yard a little.

Is it Spring Fever?

Officially it isn't summer until the 21st of June, so maybe it's  spring fever effecting my brain. I made this pattern for a patriotic hearts bracelet and earrings set, "Intertwined Hearts" ordered the beads to make them, and waited patiently  for my order from Painter Art Beads  and then excitedly opened my package of beads. I had made a typo on my order and I'd ordered DB 215, sky blue luster, instead of DB 216, royal blue luster.

Somehow the sky blue just doesn't fit in with the patriotic colors.  I am so upset with myself I've been working on one earring for a week and haven't finished it yet. The picture is from the bead pattern and represents the colors I planned for this set to be.

I did go ahead and post the pattern at The BeadCoop.  The earrings are large at 1.5 inch wide X 2.5 inch long  and will make a bold statement.  The bracelet is 1.5 inches wide X 7.3 inches long.

A Few Random Ramblings

The birthday bash for BeadPatternsBoutique is over. All prizes have been awarded and a very good time was had by all. I didn't participate in the Pink Light games, but Marie, the owner, and several of the other designers did.

I love being a member of BeadPatternsBoutique. Marie is such a wonderful people person and takes such care to make every designer and customer feel special.

Don't forget about ArtBeads tenth anniversary sale going on all year long. This week's specials include dichroic beads and patriotic items just to name two. Each week is a different sale, and there are specials on all holidays.

It's a beautiful day today and while my brain is reeling with ideas and designs and things to write about, the yard is calling. We've had a couple of good rain showers this week and everything is growing. I need to get out and trim shrubs and trees and get the weed eater after the edges and corners.
